The Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) Board of Directors approved a revised CMP Blueprint, now to be known as the CMP International Standards. The revision is designed to provide a more globally oriented testing platform for candidates seeking the CMP designation.
According to Martie Sparks, chair of the CMP Board, the revision is the result of “an international analysis of the skills and competencies required of today’s meeting professionals.”
Karen Kotowski, CEO of the Convention Industry Council, which administers the CMP program, said the revised standards are part of a large-scale project that is making changes to the CMP exam process, including the introduction of computer-based testing in the second quarter of 2012.
