Mexican President Felipe Calderon announced the launch of Mundo Maya 2012, a campaign to increase tourism and promote Mexico’s Mayan cultural legacy in the states of Campeche, Chiapas, Tabasco, Quintana Roo and Yucatan.
The campaign includes a substantial investment in infrastructure, including roads and museums in the vicinity of the region’s Mayan heritage sites.
