Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts officials have announced plans for a $360 million resort at Walt Disney World in Florida.
Construction of the 444-room hotel will begin in December. Amenities at the new resort will include a rooftop restaurant with vistas of the Magic Kingdom; a 14,000-square-foot spa with 18 treatment rooms; a fitness center; three pools and a ‘lazy river’; sports facilities including tennis courts, basketball court and climbing wall; two family recreational centers; and approximately 37,000 square feet of meeting and event space plus a business center. The resort is slated to open by late 2014.
Toronto-based Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts acquired the land from Disney in August 2008, and will retain a 30 percent ownership interest in addition to operating the resort.
