LONGBOAT KEY, FL
Owners of the condominiums at the Colony Beach and Tennis Resort have hired a Colorado luxury club operator to revamp the Longboat Key vacation destination, closed for more than a year during a conflict with its former management.
Club Holdings LLC, a members' club that supervises properties in 40 markets around the globe, was chosen from four short-listed developers, the Colony's homeowner association stated recently.
Club Holdings' selection marks a long-awaited and critical step toward re-opening the famed 18-acre resort, once considered one of the top tennis-oriented destinations in the nation. While specific details have not been made public, Club Holdings is expected to upgrade and reopen at least part of the resort by sometime in 2013.
