CHICAGO
The Swissôtel Chicago is undergoing a $10 million renovation. The 661- room property is updating its meeting space as well as its lobby.
The classic meeting space will be transformed into a modern design with a simplified palette: monochromatic with pops of red and gold tones. From wall coverings and carpeting to technology, the new space will create a coherency with the hotel’s 38,000 square foot event centre.
In the lobby, check-in pods will replace the front desk. The pod design is meant to allow the hotel’s team members to engage with customers. Every front desk agent will work from a laptop computer, giving them the flexibility to interact with guests even when they are away from their pod. The concierge will also be armed with iPads for quick access to all necessary information a guest may need to know.
Located in the lobby, Amuse will be the hotel’s latest food and beverage concept offering small plates, specialty cocktails and wine pairings. DJ-style music will change with the mood of the area, and guests desiring seclusion from the hustle and bustle can escape to a private room with cozy seating, televisions, multi-media plug-ins and more.
