The Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority has appointed Chris Baum as the organization’s President and CEO. Baum currently works at the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau as senior vice president of sales and marketing, a position he’s held since 2006.
In his current capacity as senior vice president, Baum supports his sales team on familiarization trips, site inspections and tradeshows, and has developed branding strategies, slogans and advertising campaigns, which are currently showing great success in the promotion of Detroit as a regional tourism and national convention market. He also is personally responsible for Baum is also personally responsible for the bureau’s Film Detroit division, which promotes the area for use in feature films and television production.
Through direction of the Board, the Reno CVB President/CEO plans, coordinates, directs, and is responsible for all activities associated with the operation of the RSCVA and its facilities.
