For the second straight year, MPI has sent WEC (July 2011 in Orlando) delegates a survey that, when completed, will give each participant a customized report on the Return on Investment for their meeting attendance.
The offering, created by a company named Meeting Metrics, enables users to come away with a 12-page detailed document that indicates whether he or she has met financial-related goals of attending the meeting.
For MPI’s conference, the two goals set forth prior to the event were cost savings and revenue generation. In addition to attendees measuring their achievements in these areas since the summer program, they will have two more opportunities during 2012 to check-in on their individual ROI from this year’s meeting.
After last year’s conference, people said ‘You’re only measuring us for the first four months but we’re doing our job all year long,’” said Ira Kerns, managing director of Meeting Metrics. “So in March and again in May, people can come back and add their new accomplishments, and then the system will give them an updated report.”
Last year’s attendees liked the tool, Kerns notes: “Average ROI was 321 percent, and when asked if they would participate again in myROI, over 90 percent of users said yes.”
