Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has revealed a series of recent renovations and restorations. The hotelier has revisited ballrooms, guestrooms, restaurants, health clubs and more. Across the U.S. and Canada, the brand soon will unveil enhanced offerings such as an expansive new conference center in Scottsdale and upgraded meeting space in San Francisco and Vancouver. Several other properties across the U.S.—and in far flung spots like Beijing, Nairobi and Monte Carlo—are either planning, undergoing or have recently completed renovation.
The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess has broken ground on a $20 million conference center which will debut in late 2012. Adding 52,331 square feet of indoor meeting space, anchored by a 23,000-square-foot ballroom, the renovation gives the resort a total of 150,000 square feet of event space. Existing meeting rooms will be updated to ensure seamless transitions and private walkways will be added between the two, 23,000-square-foot ballrooms.
The Fairmont Empress in Victoria, British Columbia this year will debut its second ballroom with the opening of a new 4,500-square-foot) venue in the former Kipling’s Restaurant space, with capacity for up to 250 guests. The hotel’s existing meeting space totals 23,000 square feet and it is augmented by the 73,000-square-foot adjacent Victoria Conference Centre.
At The Fairmont San Francisco, the Grand Ballroom is revealing a new look. Spanning more than 11,000 square feet), the space now boasts custom design elements. The property also recently unveiled The Diplomat Club, a new event space that boasts a full bar, dining area, billiard room and private dining room.
