What service can you provide to groups that they normally might not receive?
As we are located directly across from STAPLES Center, Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE, Club Nokia, we have access to tickets for major media and celebrity events, from award shows like the American Music Awards to all music and Los Angeles sporting events, such as front row Laker’s tickets. We also have great relationships with restaurants led by award-winning and celebrity chefs, who are eager to host our guests and give us that prime reservation time.
What are your bar or nightclub recommendations?
The local nightlife hot spots Downtown are The Edison, Seven Grand, Cana Rum Bar and Broadway Bar, along with some local cafes that offer a great bar menu.
Can you recommend a good place to take a stroll?
I would recommend a walk up Grand Avenue, passing the Central Library, the Museum of Contemporary Art and ending at the famous Walt Disney Concert Hall.
Are there any quirky places we should check out?
The Angels Knoll Park, which is known for the famous bench scene from '500 Days of Summer' and definitely Grand Central Market with terrific Los Angeles eats.
What is an unusual request from a group you’ve had?
I wouldn't call it unusual as much as I would call it honest, when a group will do anything to find an In N' Out burger for lunch. For the most part, our Concierge department has gladly been able to accommodate our groups' requests.
A party of 12 wants to have dinner right away.What restaurant can accommodate last-minute requests of this size?
Our own LA Market located in the main lobby of the JW Marriott, Nick & Stef's Steakhouse and Café Pinot are always at the top of our list.
What’s a unique event that has taken place at your property?
We are fortunate to have most major award shows take place just outside of our lobby doors on the L.A. LIVE District. This past year, we even had the MTV VMA create the red carpet/pre-show built in our main lobby after 4 days of build-out. We have also hosted events such as the E! Entertainment’s “Most Lady Gaga’s in Once Place…” event for the Guinness Book of World Records, CNN Hero’s event, Willy Wonka Cocktail Party… you name it.
