Chris Harvey, Wild Dunes Resort - Charleston, SC

What service can you provide to groups that they normally might not receive?

We have some awesome teambuilding exercises, including human boat building and beach Olympics.

What are your bar or nightclub recommendations?

On the Island, Morgan Creek Grill has a good happy hour right on the water, and the Windjammer has some great live music at their beachfront bar.

Can you recommend a good place to take a stroll?

The northernmost tip of the island is beautiful and easily accessed from the Links Course.  Additionally, the nature tours and walks on the uninhabited Capers Island just north of Isle of Palms.

Are there any quirky places we should check out?

Coconut Joe’s Oceanfront Deck has reggae during the summer, which is really fun.

What is an unusual request from a group you’ve had?

We’ve had a lot of random requests including NASCAR gear, Canadian Flags, and Pirate garb.  Our team is very good at being creative and finding solutions, but the Canadian flag was a tall order.

A party of 12 wants to have dinner right away. What restaurant can accommodate last-minute requests of this size?

Typically the Sea Island Grill at Wild Dunes and Morgan Creek Grill at the IOP Marina can accommodate.  Also, Huck’s Lowcountry Table is a nice spot for a large party.

What’s a unique event that has taken place at your property?

We’ve hosted Fitness Magazine Weekend, the Survivor Wedding, and a sales conference where Mario Andretti’s formula one race car was craned onto the Grand Pavilion.
