Hameed Jasat, The Peabody Orlando - Orlando, FL

What service can you provide to groups that they normally might not receive?

I firmly believe that in today’s economy destination visitors and guests are certainly looking for the concierge to not only meet their needs but exceed their expectations. Thus, it is incumbent for us to tailor the needs of our guests and infuse the plethora of knowledge that we have to create a memorable and unique experience for individuals and groups. Individuals or groups will have at their fingertips a concierge that is well connected within the local area and is able to make the impossible happen.

What are your bar or nightclub recommendations?

It certainly depends on the type of atmosphere you are seeking. However, for a trendy lounge with a diverse crowd, I would recommend either the Rocks at The Peabody Orlando or Blue Martini at the Mall at Millenia. For the young hipsters seeking some electro beats with a south beach flare, I would recommend the rooftop bar of Sky 60. Becoming increasingly popular would be Vain, Vintage, Vixen, Senso and the Grey Goose Lounge.

Can you recommend a good place to take a stroll?

You can stroll down the cobblestone streets of Park Avenue in the beautiful historic district of Winter Park or take a scenic walk and feed the ducks by Lake Eola. During the winter, you don’t want to miss the Christmas lights and faux snow at Celebration.

Are there any quirky places we should check out?

Dandelions – Vegan Café

Pom Pom’s Teahouse Sandwicheria

Rebounderz – a giant room of trampolines

Ripley’s Believe it or Not

What is an unusual request from a group you’ve had?

One of my staff had a group ask him to plan a team-building excursion for them. Luckily, Hard Knocks is a pretty cool indoor laser combat facility that virtually recreates battle scenarios. It was fun for a group team building experience because one of their battle zones is a warehouse designed to look like an office with actual cubicles and desks.

Other requests include locating hay, dry ice, helicopter excursions and medical supplies.

A party of 12 wants to have dinner right away. What restaurant can accommodate last-minute requests of this size?

Capriccio Grill and Napa located at The Peabody Orlando would be most happy to accommodate any large groups. Other local area restaurants are also very accommodating especially when a concierge makes the call.

What’s a unique event that has taken place at your property?

The world-famous March of The Peabody Ducks takes place twice daily at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
