Can you recommend a good place to take a stroll?
Take a three-mile stroll along scenic San Diego Bay with unique shops and restaurants at Seaport Village, the historic ships of the Maritime Museum, the iconic Midway Aircraft Museum and the hundreds of sailboats and yachts docked at its marina.

Experience the laid-back, bohemian lifestyle of Pacific Beach. Wander its boardwalk with surf shops, eclectic boutiques, local restaurants and bars or learn to surf the famous waves of Southern California.
What is an unusual request from a group you’ve had?
A group of Portuguese business travelers arrived at our hotel and needed a translator/tour guide as soon as possible for their three-day stay in San Diego. Utilizing my resources, I was able to get a Portuguese translator to the hotel within an hour.
A party of 12 wants to have dinner right away. What restaurant can accommodate last-minute requests of this size?
Our Concierge Team has cultivated strong relationships with many local restaurants. Most of those restaurants can/will accommodate 12 of our guests’ last-minute request for reservations, such as Grant Grill, Greystone, Croce’s, Asti & Osetra.
What’s a unique event that has taken place at your property?
Our historic hotel, THE US GRANT celebrated our 100th Birthday last year. It was a lavish black tie event. The guest list included local celebrities and dignitaries among other distinguished guests. They indulged in amazing local cuisine inspired by eras past and signature libations (including THE US GRANT’s own commemorative Manhattan blend barrel-aged for 100 days). The red carpet led guests to our grand lobby as they were serenaded by an orchestra from the mezzanine above. There were also “Flappers” mingling throughout the crowd, a vintage Cadillac, an artistic homage to Ulysses S. Grant, and—as the centerpiece of the event—a ‘living fountain’ sparkling against THE US GRANT’s own stunning chandeliers. It was truly the event of the year!
