WASHINGTON, D.C.
The ASAE Foundation has announced a new pilot program called the Innovation Grant Program that will provide awards to support innovation exploration and development as well as raise awareness about the innovation efforts within the association community. The new program will launch this fall.
Selected grant recipients will receive awards of up to $10,000 in either of two categories: travel or exploration. The travel grant is designed to support association professionals visiting organizations that have a demonstrated vision of innovation. The grantee would engage in state-of-the-art learning opportunities and identify ways to apply the outcomes to their organization. The exploration grant is designed to support the development of innovative activities within the grantee’s host organization and help bring the idea to fruition.
“We see these grants as an opportunity for ASAE to support and profile the innovation work that’s occurring in our community as well as a chance to raise the visibility of these programs with our peers. We will also foster new networks and create a comprehensive body of knowledge around these initiatives, programs, and models,” said ASAE Chairman-Elect Joseph M. McGuire, chairman of ASAE Foundation and president, Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers.
Added ASAE Executive Vice President and President of the ASAE Foundation Susan Robertson, CAE, “This will be one of many efforts by ASAE to increase the culture and accessibility of innovation within the association community. There are many new, exciting programs being developed and discovered by our members, and it’s critical that we enrich the learning experiences of our members, and also increase the exposure of what’s happening.”
