ANAHEIM, Calif.
Charles Ahlers, president of the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau (AOCVCB) has announced that he will be leaving the organization at the end of this year.
Ahlers, a visitor and convention industry veteran, has served as president of the AOCVCB since 1992. Early in his career, he was a Convention Sales Manager at the AOCVCB from 1972-1979. Prior to his move back to Orange County, Ahlers served as executive director of the Portland Oregon Visitors Association from 1987 to 1992, convention director for the San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau for over six years, and director of sales for the Phoenix & Valley of the Sun Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Ahlers’ previous industry service includes a one-year term as chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus and various stints on the boards of PCMA, IAEE and ASAE.
