What service can you provide to groups that they normally might not receive?
We provide full service equally to all our hotel guests, from business groups and families to individual travelers. Whatever the request or situation that is asked of us, we are more than happy to assist our guests and offer the service that they need to fulfill and accomplish it. For example, if we do not carry something specific a guest might need, our staff has been known to personally go off property and pick up whatever is desired for the guest.
What are your bar or nightclub recommendations?
If you’re looking for fun, upscale bars, my recommendations would be Cameo Bar, the Penthouse or Chloe Bar in Santa Monica. If you prefer the nightclub scene, some of my favorites are Makai, an Asian restaurant that transforms into a nightclub at 10 pm Thursday – Sunday; Wokcano, a Japanese restaurant that turns into a nightclub on Fridays and Saturdays around 10pm, and Monsoon Café, a Thai restaurant that features fun Salsa Dance Lessons, and a live DJ playing Salsa Music on Wednesday and Saturday nights.
Can you recommend a good place to take a stroll?
My absolute favorite place would be around the Venice Canals. These historical canals are still as interesting and breathtaking as they were when they were first created, and are a wonderful place to take a peaceful stroll.
Are there any quirky places we should check out?
Abbott Kinney Blvd in Venice features tons of eclectic boutique style shops and delicious restaurants. Nearby is also the Venice Beach Boardwalk, location of the famous Muscle Beach, as well as variety of street entertainers and unique vendors.
What is an unusual request from a group you've had?
Nothing seems unusual to us because at Loews Santa Monica BeachHotel, we strive to complete any request, regardless of how unorthodox.
A party of 12 wants to have dinner right away. What restaurant can accommodate last-minute requests of this size?
Our Concierge Team has a stellar reputation in the community. As such, if we need to get a reservation for 12 people immediately, our local restaurants will do their best to accommodate our request. A few restaurants I can mention that are more than accommodating are Ocean & Vine in our hotel, The Ivy at the Shore, Valentino, The Lobster, Ocean Avenue Seafood and La Botte.
What’s a unique event that has taken place at your property?
Recently we started a new series of concert events called Live from Loews. We have a live band perform in our lobby. Guest enjoy amazing ocean views, music, free-flowing beverages and a variety of contemporary California cuisine... all without even having to leave the hotel. It's California Dreamin' at its best.
