GALESBURG, Ill.
City officials are reviewing a proposal to buy and renovate the old National
Guard Armory into an 80-room hotel and convention center.
Plans include building the largest ballroom, expo and conference room in the
region, according to a project overview document. The proposed hotel would be 10 to 12
stories and would include luxury suites.
The facility also could house offices, meeting rooms, a furniture rental
facility and a coffee house, according to the document. But McNeair said those
are preliminary ideas and are subject to change as the site study continues.
