NASHVILLE
Gaylord Entertainment Co., owner of the famous Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, has announced it will sell its Gaylord Hotels brand to Marriott International for $210 million.
Gaylord Hotels will join the Marriott brand portfolio after the sale is finalized; Gaylord will continue to manage and own the four lodging properties in the deal with Marriott. They include:
- The Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville;
- Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, TX;
- Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Kissimmee, FL; and
- Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
Gaylord says no changes are planned at its existing Nashville assets, and that it will reorganize as a real estate investment trust (REIT) in the near future.
