DALLAS
MPI President and CEO Bruce MacMillan said he will not renew his contract to lead MPI, after six years at the helm of the association.
MacMillan’s contract ends June 30, and he will be replaced on an interim basis by MPI COO Cindy D’Aoust, who has led the deployment of the association’s strategic business plan in concern with MacMillan.
MPI Chairman-elect Kevin Hinton, executive vice president for Associated Luxury Hotels International, will chair the search committee for a new president and CEO. MPI said it will work to expedite the search, and will likely have the members of the search committee in place over the next week.
MacMillan did not reveal why he decided to leave the association, but in a conference call with media said his departure would be “an opportunity to take a look around and see what I might be missing.”
MacMillan praised his staff, volunteers and MPI members in an outgoing statement.
“I've been blessed to work directly with an inspired group of volunteer leaders, management colleagues and industry partners over the past six years. Without their close support and passionate commitment to all things MPI our success would not have been possible,” he said in a statement. “No industry organization anywhere harvests its members' passion like MPI does. And that's because MPI is not just about one partner, or one group of chapters or even its volunteer committees. MPI is about all of these...but most importantly it's about the collective commitment to the success of the individual member.”
