Albuquerque CC To Be Refreshed

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.

Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry has revealed portions of a $20 million planned facelift to the Albuquerque Convention Center, according to New Mexico Business Weekly.

The redesign will focus on the convention center’s west end, which was built in 1972, and will turn it into a space that represents Albuquerque.

The upgraded facility will include a territorial style facade, new kitchen, new carpeting, a food court and a refinished exterior, Mayor Richard Berry said during an event to debut the project.

Construction during the redesign will focus on the convention center’s west side. It could start in early 2013 and be completed in early 2014, Berry said.
