ONTARIO, Calif.
An investigative audit of the Ontario Convention Center, in Ontario Calif., is being performed after allegations were raised of "procedural violations" of the venue's operations, according to The San Bernardino Sun. No criminal activity is suspected.
Managed by SMG World, the center’s CEO, Bob Brown, has been placed on administrative leave, according to Bob McClintock, senior vice-president of operations at SMG. He would not say if any other center employees have been placed on leave.
SMG World managers have known of possible problems at the Ontario venue for about 10 days, McClintock admitted.
Ontario City Manager Chris Hughes said he wants to see SMG World's report finished within two weeks. McClintock said SMG World does not have a set deadline to complete its investigation, but Hughes' timeframe is reasonable.
