WILMINGTON, Del.
The Westin Wilmington, located at the Wilmington Riverfront, broke ground on Friday, July 13.
The $37 million facility will feature 180 rooms and meeting space, though an exact amount has not been announced. It's scheduled to open in early 2014 and will be connected to the 87,000-square-foot Chase Center on the Riverfront.
“We believe that the Westin Wilmington represents a culmination of the decades-long Wilmington Riverfront redevelopment effort,” said Dave Pollin, an executive with The Buccini/Pollin Group, one of the hotel's development firms.
