Wash. State Hotel Reopens After Forced Closure

KIRKLAND, Wash.

The Heathman Hotel, Kirkland's premier, full-service luxury hotel, today announced that The Heathman Hotel and Trellis restaurant will reopen on August 3rd, 2012, after an unexpected closure in May. This reopening will showcase the renovation that the guest rooms and Trellis restaurant underwent during the temporary closure.

On May 25, The Heathman Hotel experienced a catastrophic water main break causing major damage to the existing property that forced the hotel to close for over two months. During those two months, a major renovation and redesign enabled the hotel to expand the fitness center, add new meeting space for luncheons and corporate functions and an intimate dining room with an adjoining larger event space. The meeting space and new fitness center will be available for use by hotel guests and local patrons at the end of August. Additionally, a library for receptions and guest use to 'get away' has been added.

With the new features, The Heathman Hotel decided to not reopen the in-house Penterra Spa. In an effort to support local business, The Heathman Hotel reengaged the original designers, contractors and architects to complete these hotel and restaurant renovations. The hotel also kept the majority of employees on payroll during this closure.

A member of the Preferred Hotel Boutique Group. The Heathman Hotel features 91 guest rooms and suites.
