ST. LOUIS
MPI Chairman Kevin Hinton, Chairman at ALHI, revealed at MPI’s WEC that a strategic planning task force has been convened to “clearly define the specific qualifications we need our next CEO to have.” Once the committee completes its assessment it will make its recommendations to the board and the search for a new CEO will begin, he said.
Comprised of 10 industry veterans—some on the MPI board while others are merely members of the association—the task force represents a cross-section of the industry. The members of the group, and their organizations, are: Kevin Hinton, Chairman, ALHI; Terri Breining, Breining Group; Jordan Clark, Caesar’s Entertainment; Michael Dominguez, MGM Resorts International; Christine Duffy, Cruise Lines International Association; Hattie Hill, Hattie Hill Enterprises; Bob Moore, Freeman; Carol Muldoon, KPMG; Alisa Peters, Experient; and Sebastien Tondeur, MCI.
There is no set deadline for the task force to complete its work but Hinton is hoping the group will be done by year-end. MPI would not commit to a particular time frame for hiring a CEO but Hinton said he is “comfortable” saying the association will have a new leader by next summer’s WEC conference.
