Caesars Heads to Baltimore

BALTIMORE

Caesars Entertainment won license to build and operate a casino in downtown Baltimore.

Caesars officials said they plan to open a $300 million Harrah’s-brand facility by mid-2014. It will feature multiple restaurants, including a fine dining stakehouse and several casual eateries.

The Harrah’s facility would be the second largest casino in the state, behind Maryland Live!, a facility that opened last month at Arundel Mills mall in Anne Arundel County.

The project is a joint venture by Caesars and several other investment partners, including Rock Gaming. The latter company is making a name for itself across the East, having opened Horseshoe Cleveland earlier this year. In early 2013, the group plans to open Horseshoe Cincinnati and its seeking a license to develop a Caesar’s branded property in East Boston.
