21c Hotels Heads to Durham

DURHAM, N.C.

The artsy 21c Museum Hotels group is moving closer to building another luxury boutique hotel combined with a contemporary arts museum - this time in Durham, N.C., according to the newsobserver.com

The company opened its first hotel about six years ago in Louisville, where a room for tonight will cost you a minimum of $339, excluding taxes, according to the hotel's website.

The room has a 42-inch flat-screen TV, Egyptian cotton sheets, a Herman Miller ergonomic desk chair, plush robes and Malin + Goetz toiletries - the same you'll find in trendy hotels in Los Angeles or New York.

Durham's city council approved $5.7 million in incentives to convert the underused, 17-story Hill Building into a 120-room hotel and contemporary art museum, the paper reports.
