NYC's Loews Regency Plans Shut-Down

NEW YORK

Loews Hotels has announced it will close its iconic Loews Regency Hotel, in New York, on Jan. 1 for an extensive renovation. It was unclear from the announcement how long the upgrade would take or how much would be spent on the improvements.

Among the changes ahead for the hotel are upgrades to the Signature restaurant; a redesign of the lobby to create an inviting and energizing sense of atmosphere; guest room renovations; the addition of state-of-the-art technology and the installation of a modernized fitness center.

The hotel features 354 guest rooms and seven function rooms, the largest of which can host up to 200 guests.
