ATLANTIC CITY, N.J.
In the wake of damage from Hurricane Sandy, the following open letter to the meetings and travel industry from Atlantic City CVA President Jeffrey Vasser provides important updates on the city’s current status.
Dear Friends,
On behalf of the Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority, I would like to personally thank
everyone for the enormous support and understanding throughout the past week as our destination
and the Northeast dealt with the impact of Hurricane Sandy. Our hearts and thoughts are
with everyone dealing with the aftermath of this unprecedented event.
Our region is noted for its resiliency, and it is with this in mind that we are proud to announce that
The Atlantic City Convention Center and Historic Boardwalk Hall, two of the Northeast’s top event and
convention venues, are open for business with neither experiencing any significant damage from
the unprecedented storm. This news comes on the heels of Friday’s declaration from Governor
Christie that Atlantic City is open once again to the public with all 12 casinos welcoming visitors.
The Atlantic City Convention and Visitors Authority continues to work closely with groups whose
meetings, conventions, events or motorcoach trips were impacted by Hurricane Sandy. While we
are seeking to quickly reschedule as many events as possible that were affected by the storm, we
are also looking forward to working with all of our valued clients and partners to plan for future
events in our world-class destination.
As we move forward, you can expect to find all the excitement, all the fun, all the great facilities,
services and top-notch staff ready, willing and able to make it easy for your organization to DO
AC.
Thanks again to each and every one of you for your continued support throughout this past week.
We look forward to welcoming you to Atlantic City in the near future!
Best regards,
Jeffrey Vasser
President
Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority
