Harrah’s Rincon in San Diego has begun construction on a new 21-story hotel tower and expanded meeting space as part of its $150 million expansion project which, when complete, will nearly double the size of the property.
Slated to be completed at the end of 2013, the meeting space expansion will feature a new 23,000-square-foot ballroom that will connect to an expansive outdoor patio. The new space will make the property’s meeting facilities more flexible and offer event solutions for groups of 20 to 2,200. It will also feature an outdoor public space for weddings and parties, and a new banquet bar.
The expansion will also include a luxurious hotel tower with more than 400 rooms featuring spacious showers and double vanities. Scheduled to open in the spring of 2014, the new tower will increase the Harrah’s Rincon room and suite offering to 1,065.
The expansion also includes doubling the poolside space to include a lazy river, more cabanas and a larger swim-up poolside bar, as well as a new indoor/outdoor Mexican restaurant and increased casino floor.
