ALBANY, N.Y.
The Albany County Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACCVB) Education Foundation announced today the formation of a Hospitality Grant program designed to support not-for-profit organizations located in Albany County. The program, which is being managed by the Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region (CFGCR), will provide grants to events, activities, programs, and capital investments that are sustainable and support and enhance the county’s tourism infrastructure, as well as enhance the positive image of Albany as a destination.
“The Bureau’s Foundation is fortunate that because of a strong hospitality business climate and prudent budgeting, we are now able to give back to the community to assure future success and destination growth,” states Michele Vennard, President/CEO of the ACCVB. The grant program was approved by the Bureau’s Board of Directors earlier this year and was funded through the earned income of the Bureau and no tax dollars are included in the grant fund.
The grants encourage collaboration between not for profit organizations, community groups, and other hospitality businesses. The grants will range from $1,000 to $5,000. These are not matching grants, but may be used as a match for other grants. Grant applications are due by Jan. 31, 2013, and can be found online through the CFGCR website. Applications can be made directly to the CFGCR, and questions can be directed to the ACCVB.
