The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that two publicly funded feasibility studies are underway, exploring plans to build a 1,000-room hotel next to the Minneapolis Convention Center.
Meet Minneapolis paid to conduct similar studies in 2006 and 2006, but market conditions have changed.
Currently, hotels near the 475,000-square-foot convention center include the Holiday Inn Express downtown Minneapolis Convention Center, Crowne Plaza downtown Minneapolis Northstar, Hilton Garden Inn Minneapolis Downtown, Hyatt Regency Minneapolis and the Millennium Hotel Minneapolis.
