Courtney Munday, Big Cedar Lodge - Ridgedale, MO

What service can you provide to groups that they normally might not receive?

Known for our genuine Ozark hospitality and exceptional attention to detail, Big Cedar takes great pride in giving each group a truly one-of-a-kind experience. We do personalization best, with handmade welcome signs, customized room packets, and surprise in-room gifts, like engraved wine bottles or photo books. We tailor events and activities to reflect the personal style of our guests, as well as incorporating a little Big Cedar flare.

From entertainment like Big Cedar’s own “Singin’ Cowboy” to team building activities like our “Raw Hide Cattle Drive,” we will create a fun and unforgettable schedule of events for your group. Many groups continue to come back to Big Cedar year after year, not only because of the warm welcome they know they will receive, but also because of the personal relationships we build with each group, ensuring an experience that is truly unique and different from the last.

What are your bar or nightclub recommendations?

Buzzard Bar is a Big Cedar favorite, with a host of mouth-watering comfort foods and specialty drinks. The evening really comes to life when our own “Singin’ Cowboy” takes the stage, who’s musical talents and crowd pleasing wit have been featured on the Grand Ole Opry. If groups are looking for a night out on the town, The Branson Landing offers Ernie Bigg's Piano Bar in which we can set up a Big Cedar shuttle to get your guests there and back safely.

Can you recommend a good place to take a stroll?

Big Cedar offers a 5k, paved walking path throughout the property as well as 2 unpaved trails for those that want to explore the beauty of the Ozark hills. Dogwood Canyon offers a 6.5 mile paved walking trail along trout filled streams, waterfalls, and caves. Dogwood Canyon also offers biking, Segway tours, trail rides and a Wildlife Tram Tour.

Are there any quirky places we should check out?

History and legend have heavy influence on our property. Guests can take a walk across our Devil’s Pool Bridge, guiding you over Devil’s Pool Spring, where spirits were believed to have dwelled by early settlers. Shopping and art from local craftsmen can be found in many area communities, like Eureka Springs and Branson. Or, for a truly unique Ozark experience, Silver Dollar City, a pioneer themed amusement park, has several festivals throughout the year including the Bluegrass and BBQ, Kids Fest, Craftsmen Festival and the Ozark Mountain Christmas Festival.

What is an unusual request you’ve received from a group or a member of a group?

No request is too unusual for the Conference Service Managers at Big Cedar Lodge. Our guests’ concerns are our concerns. We’ve gone out to buy new shoes for guests after realizing they had only packed a pair of flip flops and I’ve even made a last minute trip to pick up a guitar for a group!

A party of 12 wants to have dinner right away.  What restaurant can accommodate last-minute requests of this size?

There are numerous dining options here at Big Cedar, any which would be happy to take care of any last minute requests. Devil's Pool & Worman House are both full service restaurants & opening soon are Arnie’s Barn and Top of the Rock Restaurant, which will also be full service restaurants.

What’s a unique event that has taken place at your property?

In 2012, we hosted The Antique & Classic Boat Society's boat show. 110 wooden boats from the US and Canada were at Big Cedar’s own Bent Hook Marina for display and judging.
