New Meetings Leadership for Mexico Tourism

Eduardo Chaillo, longtime executive director for the meetings industry for the Mexico Tourism Board, has been replaced by seasoned hotelier Cecilia Ruiz.

Chaillo joined the board in July 2001 and has had the primary focus of attracting international meetings and events to Mexico. He will continue to work with the Mexico Tourism Board as a consultant and advisor, and intends to remain in the meetings industry moving forward.

One unconfirmed source contacted for this article reported that Ruiz was formerly the sales director for a Crowne Plaza property based in Toluca, Mexico.
