What service can you provide to groups that they normally might not receive?
For groups that want to stay on property I work with our spa Bliss to provide a tailored spa day. They have a list of spa services that their group can choose from as well as where they would like to have the spa day. Such as the pool area, in-room, at the spa, etc.
Or I just curated a night for a group that wanted to attend the Lakers vs. Celtics game at Staples and was able to secure them tickets to the game as well as VIP service to Hyde Lounge at Staple Center.
What are your bar or nightclub recommendations?
I have a couple of favorite places: Supperclub, Avalon, Bardot, The Association, La Descarga, Sassafras, One-Eyed Gypsy…
Can you recommend a good place to take a stroll?
Griffith Observatory, Kensington Road, Angelino Heights, Colorado Street Bridge Pasadena, Westridge Trailhead, and Heritage Square Museum in Highland Park.
Are there any quirky places we should check out?
Murphy Ranch Brentwood, Echo Park Stairways, Self-Realization Fellowship in Mount Washington, Angeles Flight Downtown.
What is an unusual request from a group you’ve had?
A guest wanted to learn a strip pole dance in her room. She needed a strip pole dancer to come to her room with a pole teach her a dance so she could perform it for her husband.
A party of 12 wants to have dinner right away. What restaurant can accommodate last-minute requests of this size?
I just had this request on Oscar Weekend. A VIP guest’s reservations weren’t confirmed for a large party and I needed to secure the party somewhere fast! Fatty’s Public House on La Cienega was able to treat this party like VIPs and able to accommodate them beautifully.
What’s a unique event that has taken place at your property?
We have had a proposal that took place on our roof top. Our roof top is closed to the public but there is a special place that has an immaculate view of the city, and a guest covered the concrete floor with a bed of rose petals and candles—and set up a movie projector with a movie that detailed their lives together on a bare wall playing their favorite song. Very romantic!
