Hilton Head Resort Upgrades Meeting Space and More

HILTON HEAD, S.C.

Nestled along South Carolina’s coastline, the Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort opens a new chapter with a $17 million rejuvenation. After breaking ground in November 2012, the first phase of the renovation is scheduled to be complete April 2013.

The full-scale renovation, which includes a second phase set to begin in late 2013, features an entirely new arrival experience, with new landscaping and enhancements to the porte-cochere, cedar shake and wood accents, pendant lanterns and new lighting sconces. The new lobby space boasts lounge-style concierge areas and vibrant-colored walls juxtaposed against the white-on-white ceiling.

The outdoor experience, complete with sweeping views of the Atlantic coastline, includes a renovation of the existing family and adult pools, the addition of a kid-friendly “Splash Pad” and zero-entry pool with ledge seating edging the dune line. The revamped Buoy Bar continues to serve tropical cocktails, sandwiches, salads and light fare to both beach and pool-goers. From the pool area to the Upper Courtyard, new pavers and landscaping lead guests to the extended dining deck at the popular restaurant hh Prime. The new deck features a large fire pit, inviting guests to gather for pre- or post-dinner libations.

Continuing the evolution of the resort’s outdoor public spaces, Palmetto Market’s outside deck has been extended to accommodate busy days at the Market, while the Palmetto Courtyard has been re-imagined and re-landscaped to provide additional space for outdoor functions, such as weddings or meeting break outs.

The more than 15,000 square feet of current meeting space features “Carolina” porches, allowing the balmy breeze to welcome guests to the revamped and redecorated meeting rooms. New wall coverings, lighting, art work and flooring enhance the interior spaces while special seating and new flooring outside will finish the decks overlooking the Palmetto Courtyard.
