New D.C. Property a True Meetings Mecca

WASHINGTON, D.C.

Dan Nadeau has been named General Manager of Washington Marriott Marquis, opening spring 2014. In this position, Nadeau will oversee all operations of the $520-million hotel, which will be one of only five Marriott Marquis properties in the country. Washington Marriott Marquis will have 1,175 rooms, which includes 49 suites, and over 105,000 square feet of function space, as well as five separate retail and restaurant spaces.

Washington Marriott Marquis function space will include a 30,000 square-foot Grand Ballroom with 22' ceilings and two junior ballrooms. In addition to its expansive meetings space, Washington Marriott Marquis is connected via an underground concourse to the Washington D.C. Convention Center. Additional meeting space includes more than 55 breakout rooms plus outdoor terraces overlooking the surrounding City Center and Penn Quarter neighborhoods.

Washington Marriott Marquis also aims to become the brand-new social hub of downtown D.C., with a grand atrium lobby and five separate restaurant spaces. The hotel will be one of the largest in the country to earn LEED Silver accreditation.
