Sonesta Resort Hilton Head Island officially re-opened on April 4, and is finalizing a $30M total renovation of its 340 rooms and common spaces, and has added a spa to its offerings. The resort also offers guests a shaded lap pool and Jacuzzi, as well as a zero entry-heated lagoon swimming pool and children’s area. The 331 rooms and nine suites intend to highlight the look and feel of the South Carolina Lowcountry and Hilton Head Island.
The renovation of the entire resort began in December 2012, featuring the Atlanta-based design firm of Sims Patrick Studio, Inc. and the architectural firm designONE studio.
The resort’s new meetings and event space features 23,000 square feet of function space and are able to accommodate up to 1,000 guests. Meeting space includes the 10,000-square-foot Santee Ballroom and 7,000-square-foot Oceanfront Pavilion near the beach.
Until April of 2012 the property served as a Crowne Plaza hotel.
