BOSTON
According to CNN and other published sources, Boston’s transportation system joined the rest of the city in lockdown Friday as authorities continued tracking the second suspect in Monday’s tragic bombing incident.
All transit modes overseen by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) were halted Friday by police request, said a spokesperson for the MBTA.
Additionally, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation warned travelers via Twitter not to wait at stations or bus stops.
At Logan International Airport, operations proceeded normally, albeit under heightened security, according to an airport spokesperson.
Amtrak has halted service between Boston and New York as well as between Boston and Providence, R.I.
And while taxi service in the city of Boston was temporarily shut down Friday morning, it is now operating again.
