WASHINGTON, D.C.
The House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved legislation Friday to end the air traffic controller furloughs that have delayed hundreds of daily flights, one day after the Senate agreed to the bill.
The House approved the measure on a 361-41 vote, coming as lawmakers readied for a weeklong spring break.
The vote gives the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) greater leeway to spend $253 million to terminate the furloughs of some 15,000 air traffic controllers, in addition to other FAA employees.
President Obama had not signed the bill as of Monday morning, with a typo in the documentation apparently delayting the POTUS's signature, but all reports indicate the situation moving forward quickly with furloughed workers already beginning to return to their positions.
