SANTA MONICA, Calif.
Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel has announced the completion of a $4.5 million façade renovation.
New glass guestroom balconies that boast crystal clear views of the Pacific Ocean and Malibu are central to the façade redesign, making work time and down time a little more pleasurable. The renewed façade is the beginning of a series of capital investments to keep the hotel fresh and competitive within the thriving Santa Monica hotel scene, a.k.a. Silicon Beach.
“We are committed to continual and lasting improvements that will enhance the hotel’s best features,” said Paul Leclerc, Managing Director. “Our impeccable ocean view is one of our most valuable assets, and we are thrilled to now offer better views than ever before.”
Later this year, the hotel will renovate a series of rooms adjacent to the pool to create premium poolside cabana rooms, as well as a series of beach-level rooms that will feature residential-style patios, complete with fire pits.
Future exterior enhancements include the addition of “edible landscaping” and a “living wall,”—a green design initiative that advances the hotel’s Santa Monica Green Business Certification.
In January 2010 the hotel completed a $7 million remodeling including new lobby furniture, atrium redesign, marble flooring, a high-tech sound system and sleek new pool deck furnishings. The guestroom bathrooms also received new wall coverings, marble vanities with contemporary fixtures as well as new bathtub tiles and polished marble floors.
Situated on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel features 342 guestrooms and suites, two restaurants and lounges, an Eco-conscious spa and wellness center, and about 17,000 square feet of meeting and function space.
