Meritage Resort & Spa in Napa Valley hired Krisztian Karkus as its new executive chef. Originally from Hungary, Karkas most recently worked as executive sous chef at the Balboa Bay Resort in Newport Beach, CA., another member of the Meritage Collection.
There he was responsible for the operation of all three restaurants on the property and also designed menus and cooked for special events.
Karkus grew up working at a small boutique hotel about 50 miles outside Budapest, continued his culinary education, and has since worked around the world including in Jamaica and Tokoyo.
