The Rental and Staging Network (RSN), a network of geographically diverse rental and staging companies with complete event capabilities, recently compiled a list of five effective ways to add value and impact to meetings through today’s technological advancements.
Trend #1: Gesture media. Presenters have direct input and can interact with the presentation or environment, making the event more experiential. The presenter manipulates the presentation with body movement rather than a mouse, keyboard or slide advancer, while attendees stay better engaged with the content and delivery of the speaker’s presentation.
Trend #2: LED lighting. For energy efficiency and for color match purposes, LED lighting continues to provide a more customized experience. A/V professionals integrate LED lighting with video systems, being able to color match LED lighting to suit screen content and themes, further branding the meeting and the experience.
Trend #3: Projection mapping (pictured). Projection mapping, or video mapping, technologies create an unbeatable “wow” factor by projecting images on any multi-dimensional shape or form. Any object can become a display, leading to stunning visual effects that make events memorable and showcase the group’s creativity. Trend #4: Multi-image display presentation software. By utilizing software that handles multiple projectors, or other display devices like video walls, plasma screens, etc. within a computer network, meeting planners can work together with their A/V tech to create a fully-orchestrated multi-image presentation that leaves a jaw-dropping impression on event attendees.
Trend #5: Touch screen technology. This expanding technology is being used more and more to modernize events, and has the ability to transform presentations as we know them. At the recent InfoComm A/V industry tradeshow, one company demonstrated 40 touch points at one time, which could be useful as a meeting kiosk and information center.
