TALLINN, Estonia
Set to open in the heart of Estonia's historic capital, Hilton Tallinn becomes Hilton Worldwide's first property to be announced in the Baltic States. The upscale hotel is expected to begin welcoming guests in 2016 and will be located just a few minutes' walk from the historic old town and major commercial areas of the city.
The new build hotel will offer 202 guest rooms and suites, as well as facilities including a business center, fitness center, spa with indoor swimming pool and an outdoor sun terrace. In addition, the project designs feature an all-day dining restaurant, with private dining room and lobby bar.
The medieval old town of Tallinn was granted UNESCO World Heritage Site status in 1997. Well-preserved cobbled streets with historic townhouses now feature fashionable shops and lively cafes. Hilton Tallinn will open within walking distance of Tallinn's business district, as well as tourist attractions such as the Estonian National Opera House, Kumu Art Museum of Estonia and the Presidential Palace.
In recent years the city has benefited from new airline routes to Tallinn Airport from major cities such as London, Frankfurt, Moscow and Scandinavian countries. Nearby business organizations and major employers to the hotel include financial organizations, government departments and media companies.
Hilton Worldwide has the largest pipeline of any hospitality company in Europe, with more than 250 hotels operating and a further 130+ now under development. So far in 2013, new properties to join the portfolio include Conrad Algarve and Waldorf Astoria Berlin. Major new additions expected this year include Hilton Istanbul Bomonti Hotel and Conference Center and Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem.
