The General Services Administration (GSA) has unfrozen the government-wide per diem reimbursement rates for government travel, and will raise such reimbursement rates for federal employees—but intends to end its conference-lodging allowance, the agency has announced.
The standard lodging rate per diem for employees who travel for work will increase from $77 to $83 at the start of the next fiscal year on October 1; the amount for food and other expenses will remain at $46 per day.
Anne Rung, director of GSA’s Office of Governmentwide Policy, says the figures are 5 percent below the average daily rate of the market in a blog post.
