SAN JUAN, P.R.
At the El San Juan Resort & Casino in Puerto Rico, a recently wrapped makeover reveals refreshed accommodations, a revamped fantasy pool, a corporate lounge, new fitness center and the first Caribbean outpost of the famed Meat Market Miami restaurant.
Complementing the resort’s “Where it Happens” campaign of an ongoing calendar of music and fashion special events, the renovations further enhance the guest experience. In addition, a roster of top-notch nightlife venues, including a newly updated Chico Lounge, the ever-popular Club Brava and a glamorous casino continue to make this resort an entertainment hub of San Juan.
Refreshed accommodations aim to seamlessly blend Miami trendy and classic elegance, none more evident than the newly refurbished Garden Vista Rooms. Designed with light neutral colors, the 448-square-foot guest rooms consist of a king bed or two double beds, walk-in closets, luxury amenities and a private spacious balcony with views of tropical gardens and pools. Earlier this year, the resort also updated the 304 rooms in the Main Tower with new showers.
The counterpart to the resort’s renowned Lobby Bar and entertainment scene, Encanto Beach Club is an exciting poolside playground. The space now offers a newly refreshed Fantasy Pool area complete with new lounging chairs, a snazzy poolside DJ booth, Fantasy Bar and signature drink menu. Daily music and weekend live DJ fills the Beach Club from an enhanced sound system while guests enjoy an open air lounge of 24 canopied, double-sided daybeds, three private tiki-hut cabanas, spacious sundecks, a grotto waterfall, two pools, hammocks, swings and a swim-up bar. The adjacent Isla Verde Beach offers jet skiing, parasailing and a variety of water sports.
Combining the flair of San Juan with the style of Miami Beach, the new Meat Market restaurant complements the nine other dining outlets offered at the resort. Under the supervision of acclaimed executive chefs Sean Brasel and David Burner, the eatery aims to leave traditional steakhouses behind with exceptional cuts of meat, delicate seafood and the freshest produce available in the market.
In addition, the resort now features a new fitness center complete with Precor machines, corporate lounge for private check-in, two exclusive corporate floors which feature a desk and ergonomic chair, and changing rooms conveniently located by the front desk for early arrival guests. A gourmet “Grab & Go” deli shop is in the plans for early 2014.
The resort offers 14 meeting rooms and approximately 35,000 square feet of function space.
