ATLANTIC CITY, N.J.
The Atlantic City Alliance (ACA) will launch its 2014 social media campaign at NMX: New Media Expo in Las Vegas January 3 - 6. ACA will be joined by Miss America 2014 Nina Davuluri to kick off a big year of social media initiatives by hosting the first ever live @VisitAC Twitter chat Friday, January 3 at 9 p.m. EST.
Editor's Note: The #DOAC Twitter Takeover with Miss America has been postponed until Sat. 1/4/14 at 3 p.m. EST.
NMX (formerly known as BlogWorld) is the largest gathering of bloggers, podcasters and web TV content creators in the world. Atlantic City is the exclusive tourist destination participating and will host the Official Tourism Cocktail Reception for NMX attendees on Saturday, January 4 at 6:30 p.m. to preview Atlantic City's big news for 2014.
"We felt like NMX was the perfect venue to launch our 2014 social media campaign," explained Liza Cartmell, ACA President. "We recognize the importance of social media on the extension of the DO AC brand and we want to tap into the influencers at NMX to help create the buzz necessary to drive people to visit AC."
Throughout the weekend ACA will be recruiting and interviewing influencers in order to partner with 50-75 of the top bloggers and content creators to become Atlantic City advocates. They will expand the city's image, drive traffic to doatlanticcity.com and stimulate new visitation.
ACA's 2014 social media campaign focuses on the pillars of travel, shopping, dining, nightlife, entertainment and gaming. 2014 highlights include:
- Attending major bloggers events/conferences like NMX throughout the year and recruiting AC advocates
- Hosting and sponsoring Twitter chats as well as DO AC Twitter and Facebook takeovers
- Launching Instagram initiatives to show AC through photographs
- Stimulating meeting and convention visitation through LinkedIn
- Hiring new DO Crew brand ambassadors for in and out-of-market events
The Atlantic City Alliance was established in 2011 as a private, not-for-profit corporation whose primary mission is to develop and implement a full-scale, broad-based, multi-year marketing program for Atlantic City.
