CAMBRIDGE, Mass.
Hay Creek Hotels announced the new Porter Square Hotel is under construction with plans for a grand opening in the spring of 2015.
The property is situated in the heart of Porter Square, close to both MIT and Harvard University, as well as numerous commercial and tourist destinations.
The hotel will consist of 70 upscale creative guest rooms, each containing amenities designed exclusively for today's business and leisure traveler. As a full service hotel it will feature a dynamic signature style restaurant and bar with a seasonal open air patio along the busy Massachusetts Avenue walkway, a vibrant cultural district.
Porter Square Hotel will also include a private dining room and meeting and banquet facilities. An outdoor walking garden is planned, allowing guests a pleasant retreat for meditation, yoga and reading.
The hotel is being constructed by Newton-based Young Construction, who has several commercial and residential developments in the City of Cambridge. The project has special meaning to Hay Creek Hotels' President and CEO, Norman MacLeod, who grew up in Cambridge.
"I've managed many hotel properties around the world," MacLeod said. "But nothing is more special than being able to return home to combine my professional experience and local roots in managing this hotel."
The property is slated to open in the spring of 2015.
