ANN ARBOR, MICH.
A north-side landmark since 1971, the Holiday Inn Near the University of Michigan revealed its $5 million, yearlong renovation, which included an overhaul of all guest rooms and public spaces, as well as Guy Hollerin’s, renamed Guy Hollerin’s Ann Arbor Bar & Grill.
“Our guests – especially our regulars – are excited to see the final results of this renovation,” said Joe Sefcovic, general manager of the Holiday Inn Near the University of Michigan. “We’re curious to see if they recognize the hotel when they see it for the first time. The lobby, the rooms and the exterior have all been completely updated and modernized so our guests can sit back and enjoy the hotel more than ever before.”
The property's iconic blue roof was modernized, and the lobby entrance was updated. All 225 guest rooms were renovated with new furniture and features including in-room refrigerators, microwaves, ergonomic desk chairs, custom lighting and signature artwork.
Plus, all 8,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event spaces were updated and expanded. The main ballroom can accommodate up to 460 guests, and there are 12 meeting rooms, plus expansive pre-function space. Meeting rooms now include a state-of-the-art audio and lighting systems.
The hotel renovation also included an update of the newly renamed Guy Hollerin’s Ann Arbor Bar & Grill, preserving the bar and restaurant's casual atmosphere and Saturday night "Local Blues & Brews" events, while debuting a new menu.
