Affectionately known as the “Grande Dame of Broad Street,” The Bellevue, part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, celebrated its grand reopening on February 11 following extensive renovations that revitalized the historic landmark.

Originally established in 1904 by George C. Boldt, a pioneering and visionary figure in the hospitality industry, The Bellevue has long stood as a testament to Philadelphia’s architectural grandeur and cultural heritage. The hotel’s restoration aimed to combine its storied history with contemporary touches, reinforcing its 120-year role as a city staple.

The Bellevue made major debuts in November 2024 when it unveiled 184 newly restored guest rooms, including 39 suites, as well as The Sporting Club, a 100,000-square-foot luxury wellness destination. With the grand reopening, the hotel debuted its 1,800-plus-square-foot Presidential Suite.

Enhancements were also made to public spaces including the lobby; The Conservatory, the hotel’s seven-story atrium on the 12th floor; and Pergola, the 19th-floor rooftop restaurant.

The Bellevue offers 30,000 square feet of event space across three floors including its famous ballroom, “The Grand Belle,” which has been fully reimagined but still features the original ornate wall and ceiling moldings and replica chairs nodding to its opera-house origins.
