MASON CITY, Iowa
After several years of planning, Kinseth Hospitality Companies (KHC), an Iowa-based hotel development and management company, has announced it will begin redevelopment of 5.2-acre site located at 2101 4th St. SW in Mason City, Iowa, currently home to the Clarion Inn.
The redevelopment will include demolition of the existing Clarion Inn property and construction of an 83-room Hampton Inn and Suites hotel property, a 40-unit condominium, and a separate 4,600-square-foot restaurant building. The total investment for the entire project is estimated to be $15,000,000.
The redevelopment replaces a 50-year-old, two-story hotel facility with 132 rooms and three buildings adjacent to Spring Lake.
"The project will kick off in the fall of 2014 with expected opening in 2015, we're excited to get this project moving as it will be great use of the current site as a new multi-use development including a hotel, restaurant and residential development," said Bruce Kinseth, Vice President of Kinseth Hospitality Companies.

The new Hampton Inn and Suites will feature clean and fresh Hampton beds, king suites, an on-site fitness center, and complimentary On The House hot breakfast, sweet shop, indoor pool, fitness center, boardroom and of course top of the line high speed wireless internet access for our guest enjoyment. Hotels reservations system and enjoy the benefits of Hilton Honors Rewards Program. Negotiations are also underway with two national restaurant brands, both regarded as leading lifestyle brands, which will be an exciting addition to the Mason City community.
The 40-unit condominium will be built adjacent to Hampton Inn & Suites and will feature two-bedroom units overlooking Spring Lake, interior and outdoor common space including a community room, fitness room, sunken gas fireplaces and barbecue areas, and garage parking.
Construction on the Hampton Inn & Suites and restaurant space will begin in the fall of 2014 with an expected opening late summer of 2015 with the condominiums following within the next two years.
