Boston’s Seaport Hotel Completes Major Makeover

BOSTON

The Seaport Hotel, the first hotel in Boston’s hot Seaport District, has completed major renovations transforming it into an entirely new hotel offering.

All of the Seaport’s 428 guest rooms have been completely updated with luxurious amenities, adding many new décor, technology and guest preference features that modern business and leisure travelers alike will enjoy. In addition to the guest rooms, the renovation also encompasses the newly expanded and reinvented TAMO Restaurant & Bar.

The hotel houses more than 180,000 square feet of function space, including eight ballrooms.

Major technology upgrades

The Seaport’s standards for environmental awareness remain high with all-new energy efficient lighting, heating and cooling system and in-room recycling.

Each room now includes a Telkonet energy management solution, which allows for better control of the room lighting and temperature. Guests can leave and enter their room several times a day and the Telkonet system will turn off heating and lights to conserve energy and will automatically reset all systems exactly to what they were as guests approach their room. The new lighting plan is complete with a master on/off switch at the bedside and front door, as well as convenient power sources at the bedside.

Each room also now has an edge-lit, 46-inch LED high-definition television.  Redesigned bathrooms have added space and include enhanced lighting, walk-in showers in many rooms, fog-free mirrors, and Gilchrest and Soames bath amenities.

Suites include televisions built into the bathroom mirrors, walk-in rain showers and radiant heated floors. Every room also includes laptop-sized safes with interior lighting to protect against leaving anything behind.

New room decor

In order to provide guests with upgraded comfort and convenience, each room has been completely modernized with new wall coverings, carpeting and new furniture designed for maximum mobility for work and leisure.

Guest rooms are designed in a classic yet contemporary style and artwork from local artists. Guests will sleep soundly on the brand-new triple-sheeted pillowtop mattresses, topped with luxurious Frette linens and fluffy pillows, perhaps even one of the unique choices from Seaport’s Pillow Library.

In addition to the luxurious amenities and dazzling city and harbor views, Seaport’s standard room features include: complimentary wireless internet access, Keurig coffee & tea service and mini-fridges.

Redesigned TAMO Restaurant & Bar

The Seaport’s newly expanded and redesigned TAMO features more space, new décor and a new menu; it will continue to be a hotspot for local residents, neighbors and hotel guests alike, delivering a unique culinary approach to Boston’s dining experience.

Chef Robert Tobin has created a new menu reflecting “contemporary cuisine with a Boston accent.” Inspired by the city’s traditional roots, ethnically diverse population and restaurant scene, TAMO will offer everything from a quintessential New England lobster roll, to an authentic sushi experience to a playful take on the city’s food truck culture.

The new space will completely reinvent the look and feel of TAMO, creating a casually elegant and modern environment filled with light and additional seating. With two-story windows framing the new space, a fireplace and comfortable lounge and traditional seating, the Living Room at TAMO will invite guests throughout the day to relax, enjoy coffee, a cocktail, a snack or a full meal at lunch or dinner.

TAMO’s popular bar will continue to offer harbor and streetscape views in an updated, social setting; TAMO Loft will offer more seating and space for private parties and during the summer season while TAMO Terrace features stylish al fresco dining and an outside bar.

Seaport Saves

In addition to the new Telkonet energy management solution, Seaport will continue its on-going sustainability efforts. Seaport Saves is Seaport’s groundbreaking environmental program dedicated to increasing sustainability and conservation throughout all aspects of the organization.

Seaport proves it is possible to coexist in a delicate balance with the natural world while providing world-class service in a luxurious setting. Seaport Saves encompasses a variety of initiatives including over 500,000 bees which call the Seaport home, and provide the hotel’s restaurants with honey which is used in food & beverage recipes; the city’s first in-room recycling program, electric vehicle charging stations, complimentary use of bicycles for hotel guests and chemical-free cleaning products.

Seaport was named one of “North America’s Five Greenest Hotels” by Fodor’s.
